Hospitality, Recreation, & Tourism Management is the third course in the Hospitality Marketing pathway and is focused on the development of leadership and management skills needed for the Hospitality industry. Students will study Customer service, human resources, event planning, hotel management, food service pricing and procurement, marketing and sales related to industry segments, workplace safety, and the legal and ethical considerations related to the industry.
In order to increase the number of application experiences, students should participate in (1) DECA and (2) a School- Based Enterprise. As well as consider (3) Work-Based Learning (WBL) in order to practice the skills they have learned in this pathway. Students who complete the Hospitality Marketing Pathway will take an End of Pathway assessment which will allow them to earn an industry certificate.

DECA is an International Marketing & Entrepreneurship Association for high school and college students.
